Biography of Hakeem Baba Ahmed
Hakeem Baba Ahmed (born September 11, 1955) is a Nigerian politician and retired civil servant. He is currently the Northern Elders Forum Director of Publicity and Advocacy.
Dr. Hakeem trigged a mixed reaction with his interview with the Daily Trust on the fast-approaching 2023 Election. He is well-known for his reform-mindedness as a Civil Servant.
Hakeem served in many notable positions in the Federal Civil Service, including as the Permanent Secretary.

His father had thirty-three children, and the surviving scions are twenty-two. All his children were either born at their family house or in the staff quarters of Barewa College, Zaria.
The notable family has lost its patriarch and eleven children.
Baba Ahmed’s family is making a presence in the country. On November 5, 1987, Alhaji Baba Ahmed died. He left a legacy for his wives, children, and grandchildren.

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has worked as a civil servant and in other prominent positions. He worked as the Chief of Staff to Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki in 2016.
Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed worked as a permanent secretary for a decade from 1999 to 2009. He has also worked with the Kaduna State Government as Secretary.
Dr. Baba-Ahmed was also Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission. He is the Director of Publicity and Advocacy for the Northern Elders Forum, NEF.
Starting as a lecturer with the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, he worked at the Kaduna State Civil Service.
Later he joined the Federal Civil Service and eventually rose to Permanent Secretary. He was also Secretary of the electoral body INEC. He holds the national honor of Officer of the Federal Republic.
Hakeem worked with the Daily Trust newspapers as a writer and columnist.

Hakeem Baba Ahmed Personal Life
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed is a father and husband. His brother Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed served as a senator and is a governorship aspirant under PDP. Abdulsalam was once chairman of the Zaria local government.
His other brother Abdulrashid is the current director of the Ministry of Justice.
Nafi’u is a prominent lawyer, while his other brother Abdulmalik is the current General Manager of Alheri/DITV Radio and Television, Kaduna. Muftahu worked with now-defunct NEPA.
His older brother Late Mahmoon was prominent for covering the Maitatsine crisis in Kano for FRCN, Kaduna. He died at his residence in Kaduna in February 2018. Other family members include Sa’idu and Shafi’i.
In 2008, his brother Alhaji Khalifa Baba-Ahmed, a veteran journalist and ace broadcaster, died at his Malali home in Kaduna.
Many have described Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed as a fount of knowledge and talent. Mahadiyya Baba-Ahmed is his older sister.
Hakeem Baba Ahmed was born into a Muslim family. His parents raised him and his siblings with the doctrines and teachings of Islam. He is a Muslim.
